August 23rd is designated as National Doctors’ Day in Iran. This day is named after the birthday of Avicenna, one of the most famous and significant physicians, astronomers, thinkers and writers of the medieval Islamic world. He is known as the father of early modern medicine.
National Doctors’ Day aims at raising awareness about the roles, importance, and responsibilities of physicians and appreciating them for their hard work, thoughtfulness, and commitment.
During the amid Covid-19 pandemic, doctors are at the forefront and leading the battle. Their commitment to keeping the nation safe and healthy, also risking their own health to serve their patients is truly exceptional.
