We would like to express our congratulations on the eve of the arrival of the New Persian Year 1402. This year, Nowruz coincides with Ramadan, creating a unique time of celebration and reflection that we are going to have in 2023.
Foreign students in Iran are experiencing the unique cultural and religious traditions of both Nowruz and Ramadan since the overlapping of these two significant events in the Iranian calendar highlights the close relationship between Iranian religion and culture, and it can lead to a deeper appreciation and understanding of the cultural and religious traditions of Iran.
In fact, this convergence can provide an opportunity for reflection and renewal. For Muslims, the month of Ramadan is a time to focus on spiritual purification and self-improvement. Nowruz similarly emphasizes self-reflection and setting intentions for the upcoming year. The combination of the two events can encourage people to reflect on their past year, set new goals for the future, and strengthen their connection to their faith and culture.
Wishing you a new year with new cheer and happiness to MUI students, faculty members, and colleagues.
May God’s greetings, mercy and blessings be upon you.
Nowruz Mubarak!
