The accreditation process for the MBBS program at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences commenced on May 7, 2025, with an external assessment team arriving at the university to evaluate compliance with national and international standards. The event was attended by university officials, accreditation team members, staff, faculty members, and international students.
Dr. Abolfazl Golestani, the head of the external evaluation team for the MBBS program and a Professor of Clinical Biochemistry at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, regarded being among the faculty and distinguished individuals of MUI as a great honor for himself and his colleagues. He emphasized that accreditation plays a vital role in advancing health and medical fields across the country. Additionally, he explained that the accreditation process involves reviewing the implementation of academic programs to ensure continuous quality improvement at universities nationwide.
Isfahan University of Medical Sciences is the second university in the country to be selected for MBBS program accreditation. The process includes comprehensive evaluation criteria such as document review, on-site inspections, and interviews—aimed at enhancing the program’s quality and increasing its global recognition.
The closing ceremony of the MBBS accreditation evaluation at MUI was held on May 8, 2025, in the presence of the university president, Dr. Shirani. The event highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards in medical education, celebrating the university’s outstanding achievements, ongoing efforts to improve academic and clinical standards, and the significance of accreditation in elevating the institution's national and international standing. Officials underlined the dedication of staff members, adherence to global standards, and continuous quality enhancement as key factors in delivering high-quality healthcare education and services.
Following his presentation of a report on the accreditation procedures at MUI, Dr. Golestani stated: "The activities and measures undertaken by Isfahan University of Medical Sciences are being implemented effectively in accordance with accreditation standards, and the efforts of colleagues towards community health and improving the quality of life for people are truly commendable."
