MBBS Program Overview
The Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a globally recognized undergraduate medical degree, typically completed 5.5 years, that serves as the foundational qualification for medical practitioners in many countries. This comprehensive program aims to equip general practitioners with a solid understanding of the fundamental mechanisms underlying health and disease, enabling them to effectively address major health issues through the integration of medical knowledge. It emphasizes the development of professional behaviors, enhances interpersonal and communication skills for better collaboration with patients and their families, and promotes evidence-based learning to keep practitioners abreast of the latest scientific developments. Participants will also acquire practical skills in diagnosing and managing common medical problems and emergency conditions, preparing them to deliver comprehensive and effective patient care in diverse clinical settings.
A key difference between the MD and MBBS lies in the length of the clinical phase of training: MD programs necessitate 3.5 years of clinical experience, encompassing studentship, externship, and internship stages, whereas MBBS programs require a 2-year clinical phase for graduation. MBBS Program Regulations

Duration, and Medium of Instruction
MBBS program is an undergraduate program that takes 5.5 years to complete. The primary language of instruction is English, however, students must hone their Persian language skills because interactions with native patients during the clinical stage are essential. The program begins with a two-year basic science phase, taught entirely in English, followed by instruction in Persian during the clinical and clerkship phases since students enter ward and clinic rotations.
Class Location
Students spend the first two years of basic sciences in the Soleimani building and the Faculty of Medicine. Afterward, they enter the clinical and clerkship phases, during which classes are held in the affiliated teaching hospitals.

For the September 2025 intake, the application deadline is August 30, 2025. You can apply from June 1, 2025.
