The first festival of indigenous and local games of international students in Iran would continue until the end of September. Urmia University in West Azerbaijan Province, northwest of Iran, was chosen to host the festival for international students in the country.
More than 400 international university student athletes from all around Iran will compete with each other in five fields of local indigenous games in both boys' and girl's sections during the event.
There are many indigenous games in Iran that are on the verge of being forgotten. Games such as Haft Sang, Choob Keshi, and Dal Pelan are among the competitions to be held in this festival.
