Imam Ali's (PBUH) birthday is celebrated on the 13th of Rajab, the seventh month of the lunar calendar. This occasion holds great significance for Muslims, as it not only honors Imam Ali’s birth but also highlights his virtues, wisdom, and contributions to Islam. He is known for his justice, bravery, and dedication to the principles of Islam.
In many Islamic communities, the celebration includes prayers, recitations of poetry, and gatherings where people share stories about Imam Ali's life and teachings. In Iran, the birthday coincides with Father's Day, wherein many honor their fathers and express gratitude through family gatherings, flowers, and gifts.
We held a celebration for MUI international students in the dorms to foster a sense of community and connection among everyone.
