Indian Ambassador's Visit to MUI

On Wednesday, January 16, Mr. Rudra Gaurav, the esteemed Indian Ambassador, and his accompanying delegation visited Isfahan University of Medical Sciences during their trip to Isfahan Province. In a joint meeting, they met with the university president, along with a group of vice presidents, deans, and administrators.

During this meeting, Dr. Shirani, the university president, expressed his pleasure at the presence of the ambassador at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. Referring to the cultural commonalities, rich history, and long-standing relations between the two friendly countries, Iran and India, he emphasized the need to further strengthen scientific cooperation through continuous communication between the educational and scientific centers of both nations. He highlighted the importance of exchanging knowledge, technology, and culture, as well as sharing new findings and experiences in various fields of scientific production.

Dr. Shirani introduced the unparalleled educational, medical, and research capabilities of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. He stated, "More than 11,000 students are currently studying at this university in various medical and paramedical fields, including 450 international students from different nationalities; 53 of whom are from India."

The university president noted that Isfahan University of Medical Sciences has over 1,100 respected faculty members, nearly 50 of whom are ranked among the top 1% and 2% of scientists in the world. He declared the university's readiness to promote and develop scientific and educational cooperation with universities and scientific centers in India through joint research projects, exchange of professors and students, and by benefiting from contemporary experiences and knowledge in medicine, environmental science, artificial intelligence, new health technologies, and attracting health tourism.

Following this meeting, Mr. Rudra Gaurav thanked the officials of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences for their gracious hospitality and praised the university's scientific and educational capacities. He stated that both Iran and India possess strong facilities in medicine and pharmaceuticals that can be mutually shared.

He expressed the hope that this joint meeting would strengthen relations between India and Iran, particularly in research, treatment, and education. He emphasized the importance of developing communication in these fields and viewed the cultural similarities between the two countries as a solid foundation for expanding bilateral scientific cooperation. He expressed satisfaction with the connection between the educational, medical, and pharmaceutical research systems of both nations.

Finally, the Indian Ambassador met with Indian students at the university to discuss and exchange views on educational and research programs, as well as existing challenges and needs.
